Tip Downs are an exciting way to catch Yellow Perch while ice fishing. In this video we are plying the waters of Sandy Pond (Lake Ontario) for yellow perch. We are using a dual hook set-up comprised of two #4 Gold Aberdeen hooks. These hooks have a long shank so that when big minnows are ingested by larger perch, it is still easy to un-hook the fish. The quiet solitude of a Tip-Down bait, allows big perch to work the bait in quiet areas around your ice shack. Anglers can actively jig in or near the shack, while these baits produce fish consistently away from the shack.
